Create.

Alongside a busy performance career, Ben also works as a composer and arranger, writing mostly for woodwinds and collaborative projects with dance and other media. He utilises the clarinet in many of his compositions, which is often looped and manipulated to extend it's abilities and sounds. Alongside this he also uses synthesisers, found sounds and drones as his primary forces. His works have been premiered around London in venues such as Tate Modern, Wellcome Collection and Kings Place, with influences ranging from minimalism, drones, early music and Baroque era music.

As a frequent collaborator and improviser, Ben works often in multidisciplinary projects which has given him the opportunity to collaborate with artists, visual artists, dancers, actors, composers and other musicians on innovative and original projects, with projects varying from ambient music and live art shows, to experimental and abstract music that pushes boundaries and challenges audiences. Projects are often exploratory in nature and have covered a wide variety of subjects including body, soul and mind, eating disorders, domestic abuse and even adapting and reworking old works into something new like Workers Union and Poulenc's Sept répons des tenebres.

Ben works in Sibelius and Ableton Live to create and deliver projects. He is experienced with recording, as well as live electronics.
